As your wedding day approaches there is so much preparation to do, and it’s no secret that both bride and groom want their big day to be as perfect as can be. To help, our guide will help make sure you grooms are looking and feeling your best before tying the knot!
Start Your Skincare Routine Weeks In Advance
Skincare is the foundation of looking great on your big day, and perfect skin takes time. Making sure you wash your face daily is only the start. To help gain a youthful appearance you should add in a daily moisturiser and exfoliate at least once a week.
While washing your face will help reduce the chance of a breakout, exfoliating helps remove dead skin cells, leaving your skin refreshed. Moisturising after washing and exfoliating will help seal your pores and also help reduce the risk of a breakout on your big day. But remember, it’s important to use products that fit the needs of your skin.
The Groom Should Groom
Taking the proper amount of time to groom on your wedding day is the key to looking great. Wedding day grooming goes above and beyond your normal hygiene routine of showering, skincare and brushing your teeth. While those are all important, it is equally important to give your beard and hair the attention they deserve.
Schedule an appointment with your barber to get a fresh haircut 2-3 days before your wedding. Although you could treat yourself to a professional shave too, you could of course save some money and just shave your face yourself. However, for the best results and to limit the risks of irritating your skin or getting cut, use quality shaving products.
Suits You
Deciding on the style of wedding suit you want can be tricky — should you go with tweed, a bold colour, or just opt for a classic tux? Consider the theme of your wedding to help narrow down your choices. For instance, if you are having a country themed wedding I recommend a tweed style suit as it will work naturally in with the rustic feel, whereas a bold colour won’t.
After picking out the perfect suit, make sure you schedule ahead of time to get it tailored perfectly to you. Don’t be afraid to have multiple suit alteration appointments, as your suit should fit like a glove. Having the perfect fit will not only make you look great, but it will also make you more comfortable for your big day.
Pick Out Accessories
You have a fresh cut, a trimmed beard, and a perfectly fitted suit, now it’s time to add some subtle touches to your look. There are a few options on how to accessorise your suit without overdoing it.
If you want to have a little fun with your look, add in some fun socks and have your groomsmen do the same. Fun socks will give your suit a small twist that won’t hinder your look. Also, this can set you up for some great photo opportunities later on in the day!
Don’t be afraid to add in some bling to your style as well. Adding in cufflinks, a tie clip or a nice watch can give your look a little shine, without being too flashy.
Following this guide will ensure that you are looking handsome and feeling great for your wedding, so you can relax and enjoy your day!
