Have you ever been on a stag weekend and it’s become a bit of a non-event because everyone started drinking at lunchtime and then peaked by 4pm? It used to happen quite a lot, hence the creation of stag activity weekends.
On the Saturday the boys are kept out of the bar until the evening with some type of adrenalin fuelled activities. I’m talking about activities like coasteering, gorge walking, rage buggies, quad bike racing and white water rafting.
Back to basics, less adrenalin fuelled adventures are also becoming more popular options too. Consider canoeing down the river Wye, where you paddle by day and camp by night. Or perhaps a survival day or weekend, where the group pull together with one aim in mind — to relax and get away from their busy lives.
Some stag groups hire a yacht with a skipper and sail to Cowes, where Prince William celebrated his stag do. Another real winner is a horse racing stag weekend package, but these do include booze and adrenalin, so watch out!
Stag activities like these are available in lots of UK and European destinations, and they turn a great weekend into an unforgettable one.
Whatever you decide to do on your stag do, just remember not to peak too soon. Otherwise no one will remember your last days of freedom — not even you!
