Firstly, huge congratulations if you got engaged over Christmas; I’m so excited for you. I’m sure over the lazy holiday period you are enjoying looking for fabulous wedding inspiration. There’s nothing better than snuggling up on the sofa over Christmas and enjoying all the wonderful ideas, and today’s romantic, elegant winter wedding feature is nothing short of perfect wedding inspiration.
Winter is such a fabulous season, perfect for some magical romance, and the styling of this shoot shows how incredible a winter wedding can be. The muted, earthy colours of blush, burgundy, green and a pop of yellow create an elegant warmth. I am so in love with the floral displays; orchids, calla lilies, roses, chrysanthemums and an abundance of foliage feature heavily. The table arrangements look so romantic in the ornate gold vases, together with matching gold candlestick holders, and wait until you see the most incredible suspended floral display and matching bridal bouquet — they really are quite spectacular. The floral theme is also carried through to the beautiful wedding stationery.
Although the floral arrangements make a real statement, the styling is simple, elegant and understated. The styling really complements the bride’s style too. She wears a stunning lace top wedding dress that is every winter bride’s dream!
If you are looking for ideas for your winter wedding then these will wow you, but the colours will also look beautiful for weddings in all seasons. Enjoy snuggling up and looking at the wonderful pictures of these romantic, elegant winter wedding styling ideas, photographed by Jack and Jane Photography.
Romance and Classic Elegance
“Inspired by French wine country, this wedding shoot was all about romance and classic elegance. With the magnificent Franschhoek valley, Groot Drakenstein Mountains and spectacular vineyards as our backdrop, we couldn’t ask for more beauty. Lynx Wine Farm’s horse stables served as the perfect location to showcase the shoot’s stylish charm, whilst Jack and Jane Photography captured all the earthy colours wonderfully.”
Dreamy Flower Arrangements
“With winter in mind, I wanted to inspire brides with romantic, dreamy flower arrangements using earthy and deep, moody colours. I let the flowers do what they wanted, and the end result was a messy and loosely arranged, yet structured, composition. I used brown cymbidiums, red and soft pink roses, white roses for contrast and foraged greenery and autumn leaves.
“When it came to the installation, I wanted to create a big opulent appearance. I added anthuriums, tulips and amaranthus for a hint of colour alongside the roses.”
Understated Feeling
“For the hair and make-up we decided to go for an understated, contemporary feeling. I felt a modern, unfussy top bun would inspire less traditional brides looking for something different.
“While the make-up remained clean and simple, with the features gently enhanced and highlighted, the striking deep plum lip became the focal point.”
