A bride in a gorgeous 1950’s style tea-length wedding dress, a groom with a yellow bow tie, a VW Beetle, loads of wild flowers, origami bird backdrop, giant illuminated letters and a village hall set for a banquet all feature in today’s real wedding, and it’s just so pretty.
We love that Sarah and Phil created a beautiful, relaxed, fun wedding whilst making sure they incorporated things they love into their day.
Our thanks go to Jen Marino Photography who captured this gorgeous wedding in all its glory…
“We wrote a brief for our wedding and treated it like a project. We wanted our wedding day to be an amplification of our life — fun, relaxed, with people we love and a whole lot of food.
“We avoided a theme or colour scheme, however we’re both creative and admire 1950’s style and a bit of DIY. We focused on a few key showstoppers, like the big letters, lots of in season wild flowers and a banquet hall set up.
“My dress was one of my favourite pieces — a modern, romantic, tea length dress in blush. I loved not being restricted to a huge trailing dress and could dance without anyone standing on it.
“We’ve had the Beetle for four years and it was lovely to feature it in the wedding. Phil, not knowing what my dress was like, took the passenger seat out and we decorated the bumpers with flowers and foliage. Our friend drove the car and surprised us with a mini hamper of strawberries and champagne for the journey.
“The thing that I loved the most and think about nearly a year later was going to sit in a pub garden just around the corner of the venue to have our first G&T as Mr and Mrs. Getting time together to take it all in was so important.”
