Today we are sharing pictures from Tupney and David’s beautiful wedding, photographed by Pavone Photography. Their ceremony took place at Orsett Hall in Essex (where a few extra guests joined them via webcam), followed by a reception at The Old Regent Ballroom, owned by Tupney’s father. The reception details were either handmade or items from Tupney and David’s home, and Tupney, with the help of her nan, even used her creativity to add detail to her dress…
“We had a vintage, shabby chic feel to our wedding. We have a lot of shabby chic items and trinkets in our house so I used all of these for the table centrepieces, with a small array of vintage things in the middle, some artificial cream roses and small bunches of lavender, along with name tags pegged onto glasses, and small jars with heart pastel colour sweets in as favours.
“I decided to use artificial flowers as I wanted to keep them after the wedding. My nan and I made bouquets for me and my maid of honour using green hydrangea, cream roses and a few other colours, and the bridesmaids had green artificial mini bouquets that I actually bought for £5 each in the Next home department!
“We had a civil ceremony in the chapel at Orsett Hall; it was beautiful! Because we already had our reception venue we searched around and found that Orsett Hall was one of the only venues near us that will hold a civil ceremony without you having to use the venue for your reception too. We had about 120 people there, and also some of our friends from the USA on webcam!
“We are lucky because my dad has his own Ballroom which has a hall upstairs where we had our sit down meal, and being from the east end of London we opted for good old fashioned pie and mash. We had a projector playing photos throughout our meal of the whole family from many years ago, and photos from all around our area. We then moved to the downstairs of the ballroom which my dad had turned into a magical wonderland!
“My dress meant so much to me; my nan and grandad bought it. I saw my dress in the sale in a shop which was just around the corner from my nan’s house. It was a Champagne/soft gold colour and the shape was perfect, however I felt the dress was too plain. My nan and I had spent many years making clothes together, and my nan, back in the day, made all the family’s wedding and bridesmaid dresses, so we set out to bead the bodice of the dress ourselves, and the day before the wedding I decided that I wanted to attach straps, so I used a very delicate beaded lace to create straps for it too.”
