Our congratulations go to Chris Chambers Photography, after this stunning picture received the most votes in our May Picture of the Day competition. Taken at the wedding of Claire and Andrew at Ripley Castle in North Yorkshire, this picture is the fifth to go through to our Picture of the Year final, and Chris told us how it came about…
“We’d had a great day with brilliant weather, and as sunset drew near we could see it was going to be a good one. Andrew and Claire were very obliging and took a walk with us down to the lake for some sunset photos around the jetty. This was a grabbed moment as we crossed the bridge on the way; I looked back and saw the colouring sky, clouds and railings creating great lines leading back to the castle — it was too good an opportunity not to take a few photographs. We kept the pose relaxed and I just asked them to share a moment together.”
