Most wedding dress designers launch new bridal collections at least once a year, and for many White Gallery London is the place to do it.

White Gallery London is a unique event widely renowned for its world-class fashion shows, where top designers and bridal boutiques showcase their new collections. It’s often where the trends for the coming season are set. Press see the latest designs and retailers choose the dresses and accessories they will be stocking in their boutiques.

White Gallery London is an amazing opportunity to see first-hand some of the world’s most exquisite gowns and accessories, all under one roof.

From catwalk shows to private fashion previews, the event in May again showcased the upcoming bridal wear trends. Illusion bodices, sexy plunging necklines, exquisite embellishments, feathers, florals, lace and full skirts featured heavily on the catwalk — a sign of what’s to come this season.

Alan Hannah, Sassi Holford and Savin London showcased their inspiring new collections in their own private shows, while the International Preview and British Talents shows gave visitors a taste of the latest trends from across the globe.

It was great to see so many amazing British designers showcasing their work, including Charlotte Balbier, Cherry Williams, Dando London, Eliza Jane Howell, Ivory & Co Bridal, Katya Katya Shehurina and Raishma.

The International Preview featured designers including Claire Pettibone, Brian Chen, Anny Lin, Sylwia Kopczynska, Rembro Styling, Anna Georgina and Randy Fenoli.

2018 Trends

The dresses this year are all gorgeous. In recent years we have seen the tradition of white and ivory dresses change to champagne, gold and blush, but for the 2018 collections blue and florals are a definite big thing. Just look at the blue floral details on this dress ‘Enchanted Garden’ from the Alan Hannah Veritas 2018 collection — simply stunning.

This majestic blue dress from Savin was a real showstopper on the catwalk.

The illusion bodice was all over the catwalk too. We’ve seen plenty of illusion backs over the last few years, and I feel this trend will keep on giving. There is nothing more feminine than a daring illusion bodice and a plunging neckline.

Other trends included trouser suits (oh I do love a trouser suit/jumpsuit), short dresses with detachable trains and the two-piece skirt and top combos we’ve seen a rise in popularity.

My favourite dress from this season’s White Gallery catwalk has to be ‘Amelia’ by Savin. I adore the detail on this dress. The floral element is so pretty and the plunging neckline and illusion capped-sleeves are very feminine.
