Oh my days. I am totally smitten with the enchanting wedding dresses in the Alexandra Grecco The Magic Hour 2018 bridal collection — and magical they certainly are!
If I’m completely honest, it’s rare that I come across a new bridal collection and I love all the wedding dresses — there’s usually one or two that are just not my thing. But I can honestly say I adore all the dresses in The Magic Hour collection. I can even say that one is my favourite wedding dress for 2018 (and I’ve seen a LOT of wedding dresses!). I’ll reveal which one it is later.
Alexandra Grecco designs balance modern elements with effortless style. Her collections tend to stray from tradition, while featuring high-quality fabrics and intricate hand-embroidery. The clean lines and chic silhouettes contrast perfectly with the soft, ethereal details throughout each wedding dress. Alexandra Grecco’s signature ‘effortless’ bridal style is making big waves in the industry; she is most definitely a designer to watch.
A recent trip to Ile de Re, an island off the west coast of France, along with silhouettes and details from 1920’s circuses, inspired the Alexandra Grecco The Magic Hour 2018 bridal collection.
Polka dots and fringe feathers give a contemporary and playful feel, and incredible floral appliqués, glittery fabric, exquisite hand-embroidery and dazzling details add romance. I love the addition of colour, inspired by the pastel buildings and hollyhock followers that lined the narrow cobblestone streets on the island. The unique Wilder gown in lavender (also available in Perlé, off-white) is a real showstopper.
With a full array of styles and cuts, there is a wedding dress for everyone in The Magic Hour collection. From figure-hugging elegant white dresses, and coloured, floaty dresses with plunging necklines, to beautiful dresses with capped sleeves and dresses with long sleeves and feather trims. For a dress to dance the night away in, Coco, with multiple tiers of ostrich feathers, will twirl with you.
The most alluring feature is the floral appliqués that adorn the Lana, Wilder and Iris Floral gowns. Inspired by the flowers found on the island, the floral elements are hand-embroidered on illusion tulle and made to look like tattoos. Just splendid!
The Alexandra Grecco The Magic Hour 2018 collection is full of surprises, and perfect for free-spirited brides. These are my favourite three dresses in the collection…
Iris Floral
I am so in love with this dress. It is my favourite wedding dress for 2018. Extraordinarily beautiful, it’s the pièce de résistance of the entire collection, and quite rightly so.
The intricate hand-embroidered floral appliqué is truly a work of art. Coupled with a plunging V-neckline and strappy back detail that nearly disappears, Iris Floral is the showstopper — hands down. Imagine the look on your husband-to-be’s face when he sees you walking down the aisle towards him.
This beauty is available with champagne or off-white embroidery.
Nima
Each of the silver features on the bodice of the Nima gown are hand-embroidered with love. The illusion tulle bodice with plunging neckline and deep plunging pack are ultra feminine, and with the sleek, fitted skirt make this a romantic and glamorous dress. Nima is perfect for laid-back brides looking to add a touch more drama to their look.
This dress is also available in off-white.
Palma
A soft, floaty wedding dress with cute capped sleeves, Palma is full of charm and detail. The incredible hand-embroidered floral beading pops against the champagne silk lining. Along with the illusion tulle bodice, soft flutter sleeves and sultry low scooping back, Palma is the epitome of romance.
You can mix things up too, as this dress is available with champagne and off-white lining.
The wedding dresses in the Alexandra Grecco The Magic Hour 2018 collection are all red carpet worthy and to die for! See the full collection in the gallery below, and find your nearest Alexandra Grecco stockist at www.alexandragrecco.com.
