Do you love the 2018 Pantone colour of the year, Ultra Violet? Do you want to incorporate it into your wedding day, but are not sure how? Well, here’s some inspiration on how you can include Ultra Violet wedding styling in your day to suit your personal style and tastes.
Get the Right Balance
Ultra Violet is a glorious colour, whether you choose to go all out and include it in all your details and styling or scale it back to add some pops of colour to your day. The key is to embrace this colour in manageable quantities. Too much could be overkill, and too little may not be brave enough for it to have an impact.
Create a Pinterest board of your favourite Ultra Violet wedding looks and take your time to decide exactly how much you want for your wedding day.
Use Other Colours Too
Mix Ultra Violet with other colours rather than just using it on its own. Using this vibrant tone alone against an ivory marquee, for example, could look severe and won’t give you the styling you imagined for your special day.
Find some interesting fabric swatches which combine Ultra Violet with other colours, then use a mix of them within the rest of your wedding styling. I love to see Ultra Violet mixed with softer lilac shades, grey tones or teal colours. For something more contemporary, Ultra Violet looks stunning mixed with a shot of lime.
Details
Use accents of Ultra Violet on occasional tables or as a backdrop for your wedding ceremony. Enhance your styling by adding panels of vibrant Ultra Violet fabric around the room or marquee, and include Ultra Violet cushions, throws and rugs for chill out areas to create interesting, cosy features.
Flowers
When it comes to your wedding flowers, keep your bouquet and floral styling neutral and add some rich hues of delphiniums, aliums, lisianthus and iris.
If you want muted colours for your floral details, display wedding flowers in Ultra Violet painted vases as table centrepieces. If you are incorporating other colours into your day, choose coloured tablecloths in softer tones to enhance your table styling.
Work in Areas
When using a vibrant colour like Ultra Violet for your colour scheme, remember, not everything needs to be that colour. Splitting the space you are using into sections is a great way of making some interesting features.
Include Ultra Violet wedding details in each section i.e. the ceremony, bar, reception space and chill out areas. Use smaller details in some sections, such as coloured candles or lights on the bar, then go all out in other areas, such as your table flowers or ceiling decorations.
However you choose to include Ultra Violet on your wedding day, embrace it and you’re guaranteed to have an unforgettable day.
