If you are having a spring or summer wedding, why not make the most of the weather (fingers crossed) and have an English garden party theme? There are so many pretty floral and vintage styles that you could incorporate into your day to bring the theme together.
By having the theme of a garden party you could have a tea party as your wedding breakfast instead of a sit-down meal. Ask your wedding venue if they would cater for this, or find a catering company to provide the food (make sure you check with your venue before booking a catering company, as some venues do not allow outside caterers).
Have plates, bowls and cake stands of finger sandwiches, scones, tea cakes, strawberries, salads, fruits and cup cakes in the centre of tables that guests can help themselves to. Source or hire floral and vintage style china plates, cups, jugs, tea pots and silver cutlery. These can also be used as part of your decoration.
Create a romantic, elegant scene by decorating tables with pretty floral and pastel colour table cloths and napkins and decorate the garden of the venue with fresh seasonal flowers, garlands, bunting, bird cages, ribbons and some of the garden party crockery. Chandeliers or lanterns hanging from tree branches will give a sophisticated charm.
Have your table plan created with a floral design and even use flower names as your table names instead of numbers. Send invitations that bring the theme together. Most wedding stationery companies have ranges that will complement your English garden party theme.
