The whole wedding industry is buzzing about what’s to come in 2018. 2017 saw lots of new and wonderful wedding styling trends, including large installations of balloons, flowers, lanterns, chic backdrops, and contemporary themes such as geode and marble. We also saw combinations of themes where there were mix and match details to give a unique look. So, what does 2018 have in store? These are my predictions of what the hot 2018 wedding styling trends will be.
Colour
There is no escaping colour in 2018. Pantone released their colour of the year as the vibrant Ultra Violet, and together with their colours for spring, we are sure to see some sensational colourful weddings this season.
To make the most of this colourful year we will see lots of fusion of colour. Expect unusual colour combinations, especially in neutral venues where couples can get extra creative with colour.
Oversized Blossom Trees
We are expecting to see lots of oversized ‘blossom’ trees featuring in 2018 wedding styling. There is a trend for bringing the outside in, to enjoy all the wonders of nature without being compromising with the British weather.
With both real and artificial options, couples on all budgets can include oversized blossom trees in their styling. With the Instagram age taking control, couples want to re-create ideas and trends they see online, and the use of artificial arrangements can make this possible.
Alternative Table Décor
Couples are always looking to make their wedding stand out with alternative table décor. The use of fruits and vegetables in table décor crept in at the end of 2017, so we are predicting this to continue for 2018 wedding styling. They look wonderful when combined with simplistic fresh flowers, candles, fairy lights and glassware.
Greenery
Greenery was a huge trend in 2017, and this will continue well into 2018. It will be everywhere, from colour schemes and details to extravagant Enchanted Forest themes. A versatile wedding trend, greenery is easily applied to all aspects of your day, no matter how large or small.
Glass Dome Decorations
As the trend for using terrariums in décor and styling will continue, we are also going to see lots of glass dome decorations filled with floral displays. Presented as table centrepieces, used to line wedding aisles and as extra décor around venues, they also look fantastic combined with foliage and candles.
Coloured Linens
2018 wedding styling will see couples break away from the traditional white tablecloths, instead using lots of coloured linens to enhance their colourful wedding day. Combine an array of colours in your styling as a great way of expressing your personalities.
Colourful Wedding Dresses
As well as colourful table linens, we have already started to see coloured wedding dresses appearing on the catwalk. We are very excited to see how many brides choose a colourful wedding dress rather than the traditional white or ivory! Would you?
Whatever your style, 2018 is going to be an exciting year to be getting married or to plan your wedding.
