We all love a thank you, and in this day and age I must admit a handwritten thank you, traditional or not, goes a long way and is much appreciated. But if you don’t fancy matching thank you cards to your wedding stationery, what are your alternatives?

Photo Cards

I’m rather fond of photo cards. These are cards with a wedding day image of the couple printed on the front, with space inside for a personalised thank you message. They take a little longer to print as you have to wait until after the wedding and until you’ve agreed on a favourite image, but it’s a lovely way of ensuring each guest has an image of you on your wedding day.

Reception Table Cards Which Say Thank You

A nice touch that I’ve seen before are couples expressing their thanks at their wedding tables, particularly when they have requested charity donations instead of asking for gifts from a conventional gift list. A card explains the significance of their choice of list and charity, and thanks guests for supporting them.

Film Highlights Clip

A lot of couples have a wedding film as well as photos, and I love the short 30 second highlight clip which is often produced. An incredibly powerful snapshot of the entire day, it’s a fabulous gift to email to friends and family. Your film company could include a screen shot/intro of your thank you to guests within it.

Wedding Cake

Don’t forget your wedding cake. Sending a beautifully boxed slice of cake with a note of thanks very soon after the wedding is a lovely way to thank those who couldn’t attend. You have a bit longer to arrange delivery if it’s fruit cake!
