Getting married outside is becoming increasingly popular. Landscaped gardens, scented flowers and birdsong are all things that make an outdoor wedding very appealing, and with summer on the way it’s a great way to enjoy the warmer weather and be a bit different. Here are four of our favourite wedding venues for an outdoor wedding…
Ardington House, Oxfordshire
This magnificent Georgian mansion stands beside a river and provides a wonderfully impressive setting for beautiful weddings. Outside wedding ceremonies take place in the romantic Island Temple on Ardington’s lake. With swans and ducks swimming nearby, the Island temple is a charming setting for your exchange of vows.
Ardington House can seat up to 200 guests for a ceremony, followed by a wedding breakfast and evening reception in a wedding marquee.
Gaynes Park, Essex
The listed Gather Barn at Gaynes Park is a beautiful open-sided barn, licensed for civil wedding and partnership ceremonies. Charm and character are plentiful, making this rustic barn an ideal venue choice for an outdoor wedding.
Afterwards the wedding breakfast takes place in the stylish and contemporary Mill Barn, alongside the Gather Barn. At night the Gather Barn can be lit with colourful uplighting, transforming it for the arrival of your evening guests.
Brewerstreet Farmhouse, Surrey
The magnificent Tudor Brewerstreet Farmhouse creates a stunning backdrop for an outdoor wedding ceremony in the romantic River Chalet, a waterside wooden gazebo.
Guests sit in the open-sided marquee attached to the gazebo to witness the wedding couple exchange their vows. In the event of unfavourable weather, the sides of the marquee can be closed to keep everyone dry.
Lains Barn, Oxfordshire
If you’re looking for a venue for an outdoor wedding ceremony in a rustic country setting, then you’ve found it in Lains Barn. This fabulous timber-framed wedding barn offers the perfect balance of outdoor and indoor areas, allowing you to enjoy the celebrations both inside and out.
Outdoor wedding ceremonies take place beside the licensed well, with guests seated in the central lawn area to share in this special part of the day. Follow your civil ceremony with a drinks reception on the lawn to make the most of the summer weather.
