Vintage themed weddings with pretty cups and saucers are still very popular, but why not go one further and have a wedding tea party? Freshly made finger sandwiches and delicious cream cakes, beautifully displayed on old-fashioned cake stands, will delight your wedding guests and feel like an especially decadent treat.
Here is my selection of beautiful venues perfect for a wedding tea party…
Homme House, Herefordshire
Set in 180 acres of stunning parkland near Ross on Wye and Ledbury, the elegant country mansion, Homme House, is a beautiful venue for a wedding tea party.
Enjoy croquet and other garden games before moving into The Dining Room for afternoon tea. Light and spacious with views over the garden, it can seat up to 100 guests. Exquisite antique furniture and beautiful features like the ornate fireplace and sparkling chandelier will set the scene perfectly for your vintage tea party.
South Farm, Cambridgeshire
If you’re looking to host a wedding tea party with a bit of rustic charm, then look no further than hosting your big day at South Farm.
This lovingly restored country house lies next to a beautifully converted timber barn seating up to 140 guests for dining. Adorn the exposed beams with pretty bunting and decorate the tables with huge hydrangea centrepieces for that perfect tea party look. South Farm is licensed for civil ceremonies in one of three rooms inside, or outside in the picturesque Summer House.
Downsview, West Sussex
What better way to enjoy freshly made cucumber sandwiches and pastry delights than in a pretty marquee overlooking the Surrey and Sussex hills? Set in a former apple orchard, Downsview is a wonderful venue for a wedding tea party.
The marquee can seat up to 200 guests and comes with all the fixtures and fittings needed to host your big day. Like all marquee wedding venues, Downsview provides a wonderful blank canvas for you to decorate in your own wedding tea party style.
The venue’s on site Elizabethan barns are available for up to eight guests to stay overnight.
Brocket Hall, Hertfordshire
Wow your guests with a glamorous wedding tea party experience in a sophisticated and stylish venue like Brocket Hall in Hertfordshire.
Seating up to 150 guests for dining, the opulent Ballroom features stunning oil paintings, impressive chandeliers and a beautiful ornate fireplace.
Brocket Hall offers 46 luxurious guest rooms to the wedding party on an exclusive use basis, and guests will enjoy their stay even more with the venue’s traditional butler service.
