One of the most dramatic ways to make a statement at your wedding is with your floral displays. Flowers make a wedding and can transform the plainest venue into something extraordinary, or complement an already beautiful setting. Everything from a ceremony setting to a blank canvas marquee has the potential for wow factor wedding flowers.
Making Bold Statements
A marquee reception is the ideal space for flowers to have a huge impact. In effect a marquee is a big, featureless white box. In some ways this can have an advantage over a static venue as it gives you the opportunity to come up with something amazing that a house or hotel might restrict.
One way of creating drama in any wedding reception space is to create height on the tables. Tall arrangements instantly lift the eye and make bold statements whilst detracting from any unsightly features that there may be.
I love to use tall vases filled with masses of foliage or blossom as their bold size lends a feeling of grandeur to the occasion. Using foliage rather than flower-heavy designs is also a good way of making the most your budget without compromising on style.
If you want your wedding flowers to make an impact during your ceremony then think about using some of your table centrepieces in this area and then repositioning them for the reception.
Repetition is key to creating wow factor wedding flowers, and massed flowers always make a big statement too. Although the flowers may not be expensive, grouping them together is a wonderful way create wow factor from the start.
