Freedom have been in the business of organising fabulous hen parties for over 20 years. Mike, the MD of Freedom since 1996, has identified various hen party options that have taken their inspiration from TV shows…
We’re a nation of TV lovers — fact! We knew it was possible to take a TOWIE tour; actually it’s on our ‘to do’ list. But it got us thinking about the other TV inspired hen parties available.
TOWIE — Essex and Marbella (Marbs)
Let’s start with TOWIE as we’ve already mentioned it, and Essex is home to Freedom. Essex has jumped up the popular UK Hen Weekend Locations leader board, and we believe that’s thanks to the blinged-up, bejazzled cast of this addictive TV show. Shop, drink and of course party where the TOWIE cast do… cameras ready.
No carbs before Marbs has become a mantra now for any hens considering taking their hen weekend abroad. Join the jet set for a hen weekend of champagne spraying beach parties, catamaran booze cruises and clubbing til dawn.
Made in Chelsea — London
London just cemented its top spot by luring in the TV lovers with the chance of a Made in Chelsea hen party tour.
Fans of the show cannot resist an opportunity to see up-close the chic and exclusive world of the Chelsea, Prada bag carrying, Jimmy Choo shoe wearing, high society; to see where they hang out, dine and drink and follow in the footsteps of the rich, famous and elite residents of SW3.
Geordie Shore — Newcastle
Now we’re not for one moment suggesting that all our Newcastle hen weekends copy the antics of the cast from this outrageous reality TV show. However, what the show does relay is that Newcastle can party, and does party, every day of the week.
Howay the lasses, it’s a reet party toon. From the 2-4-1 drinks down the Bigg Market to the sophisticated cocktail bars and restaurants of the Quayside, it’s diversity that Newcastle has in abundance.
Great British Bake Off — Pizza Making and Chocolate Workshop
Ah, Mary Berry, the nation’s favourite granny. GBBO is what makes Wednesday nights for most of us; I wonder what night channel 4 will air it?
We’re a nation of food lovers — foodies that’s us. So, it’s no surprise that your hen party activities could reflect that, and Pizza Making (hmmm, not quite the showstopper) and a Chocolate Workshop (should qualify as the Technical Bake) are proving popular hen party choices.
Ninja Warrior — Bournemouth Goofy Games
Now you hens may not be sporting abs of steel, guns of iron or quads of titanium; let’s face it, most of us don’t. However, that doesn’t prevent you from competing in sort of, kinda like, nearly there, Ninja Warrior challenges.
Hen Party Goofy Games is a classic ‘does what it says on the tin’ activity. You play competitive games that are totally goofy.
It’s a Knockout — 70’s Game Show Classic
A golden oldie. Most hens won’t remember TV presenter Stuart Hall repeatedly getting the giggles as he tried to commentate on the hilarious games that the contestants had to compete in.
Now you can try it for yourself, wearing some of the original huge costumes and battling your way over inflatables as part of our Nottingham hen weekend activities.
But where to next? Hope it’s not The Hunger Games! Motorised mayhen Top Gear style would be fun, with Off Road Buggies, Quad Bikes and Blindfold 4×4.
