All too often stag and hen parties fall into the mundane pub and club crawl. Why not be a bit more imaginative with your group of mates and make it memorable by doing something a bit more out of the ordinary. Stag and hen parties need to take you out of the norm, otherwise they’re just another knees-up.

Tagging on a daytime activity or two to your trip will add variety and adventure to the whole event. It may also be the part of the party that you remember the most about.

Outdoor Pursuits

When the weather is mild it’s a great time to do some full on outdoor pursuits to test your metal and get a real sense of achievement. If you’re full of energy you could try gorge scrambling in Herefordshire, abseiling in Chester or crazy coasteering in Newquay.

Abseiling

Fans of Total Wipeout can get as much of a thrill at an extreme adventure park or mega assault course. Do something you’ve never tried before, something you’ll look back on with pride.

Team Games

Or, if you’re planning a joint stag and hen party, get some competitive spirit going with a treasure hunt day and see which team comes back victorious. You know how useless boys are at looking at a map or asking for directions.

Girlie Hen Dos

Some great ideas for a truly girlie time include a Fashionista’s Afternoon Tea. As well as exquisite savoury tasties you have the traditional elements of an English tea, plus the ab-fab addition of sweet treats styled into designer accessories like Louis Vuitton handbags, Louboutin shoes and McQueen hats. This is Sex and the City, and some.

Or how about a luxurious chocolate making class, or trying your hand at glam hat making. Your hens could all wear their hats to the wedding as a salute to a brilliant time.

Whatever you choose to do, remember to take a camera with you and take lots of photos so you can look back on all this for many years. When you’re in your rocking chair you’ll be glad that you went that extra mile, tried a new craft that suddenly became the start of a brilliant business concept, or proved that you’ve got more about you than getting a skinful and swapping shirts after an obliterating hen or stag night on the town.
