The spectacular homeland of Geordie Shore, Newcastle Brown Ale and the North’s finest nightlife. Newcastle was, rightfully so, top of the most popular hen party destinations in 2016. Last Night of Freedom, stag and hen experts and resident Geordies, are super proud of the city. Lauren rounds up the best Newcastle hen party activities.
Geordie Shore Makeover
Your Newcastle hen weekend is about to get even more glam… with a Geordie Shore makeover. This gorgeous city is the holy land of bouncy hair and big lashes, and this luxurious makeover session will prepare you for a weekend in The Toon. The Geordie Shore girls don’t leave the house without primping and preening, and there won’t be any hens looking less than perfect on our watch.
This beautiful salon, located right in the centre of Newcastle, has styled the stunning Geordie Shore girls, as well as everyone’s favourite Gogglebox star, Scarlett Moffat. You’ll get a professional hair stylist and make-up artist taking care of you, and you can even bring your own Prosecco to toast to a fab hen weekend.
Lane7
Forget your childhood games of bowling, this is 21st century bowling. Lane7 is a concept unique to Newcastle — and a hugely popular one at that. The American diner-style venue, dedicated to the games of the past, features an uber-cool bowling alley, ping pong and beer pong tables, arcade games and a sweet karaoke room to boot. It has combined all this with a gastro pub, serving delicious food inspired from Murica.
Lane7 boasts an unrivalled atmosphere, as well as classic cocktails and Hooch (for those feeling super retro). We’ll arrange your bowling game, buffet and drink.
Adonis Cabaret
It wouldn’t be a true Newcastle hen party without the rippling abs and toned tooshes of the Adonis Cabaret boys. This show is almost in its twentieth year. It’s packed full of jaw-dropping strip shows (firemen and army strip teases to name a few), singing and even hilarious drag acts. The compere is cheese-tastic and will keep you entertained whilst the boys change into sexy clothing. It’s enough to make you cancel the wedding…
This tasty package includes a welcome cocktail, mouthwatering buffet and entry to one of the finest nightclubs so you can keep the celebrations going until the next morning.
Glass House Afternoon Tea
Take your Newcastle hen party back to the roaring 20s at the stunning Glass House. This grand venue, set in the huge Milburn House, is a bar that even Gatsby himself would be proud to visit. Glass House boasts opulent interiors, an outdoor cigar terrace and chic bar area.
This is the sophisticated backdrop to your elegant champagne afternoon tea, including dainty finger sandwiches, scones and a selection of macaroons, mini tartlets, cake and lashings of fizz. Chin chin.
Ladies Day
Top up that hen weekend kitty and get dolled up for a day at the races. Set in posh Gosforth, this racecourse is famous in the North East and has hosted many prestigious events, but none quite like Ladies Day. This event is the talk of The Toon, where the most affluent and glamorous come to take a punt on the Phillies, with the added benefit of lots of champagne.
You’ll have access to the premier enclosure (very fancy), boasting fantastic views of the runners. You’ll also get entry to the parade ring, winners enclosure and the lawns, Brandling House and Colonel Porter Stand. Perfect.
