There are many things you can do to prepare your mind and body for your big day, but these are my top five pre-wedding spa treatment picks…

Silk Smooth Full Body Scrub

Guaranteed to give you that glow, a full body scrub is great for your skin and involves exfoliation from the neck to your tippy toes. Not only will you feel as soft as the proverbial baby’s bottom afterwards, you will feel a zing; a renewed energy, which is often in short supply after months of wedding planning.

It’s best to book this treatment after a sauna or steam session, which will open up the pores and enable you to fully benefit from the treatment. Of course, exfoliation removes dead skin cells, and an oil or moisturiser is applied after the scrub has been removed.

If you plan to have quite a bit of flesh on show on your wedding day, perhaps with an open-back or strapless dress, the full body scrub is for you. It’s also perfect for brides who are going straight off on honeymoon afterwards as your smooth skin will accelerate your tan.

Glowing Hydrated Facial

Hydrated skin is the best kind of skin, and will be especially useful when it come so make-up application on the day. Having a professional skincare treatment in a spa environment will boost your home skincare routine as they unclog pores, hydrate the skin and plump up the facial muscles. The hydrating facial is an extremely relaxing treatment, so don’t be surprised if you fall asleep during it. Again, it would help if you have a sauna or steam room session beforehand.

Although a hydrating facial is great for your skin, I don’t recommend trying any new products on your skin less than four weeks before your wedding, especially if your skin is susceptible to reactions.

Gel Manicure and Pedicure

Your hands will be among the stars of the show on your wedding day. Everyone will want to see the ring and, of course, there are the photographs to think about. The classic French polish is still a popular choice, but more and more brides are opting for bold colours to reflect their colour scheme. Even pastels, neutral tones and glittery polishes can make your hands more of a feature. Don’t forget your feet too!

Keep your hands well nourished in the lead-up to your big day to ensure that they live up to their starring role.

Pampering Massage

Be gone all the stresses of wedding planning! A massage is one of the best ways to relieve tension in your shoulders and back, as well as the muscles. Full body massages can be with hot stones or aromatherapy oils, and most spas play music and have heated beds to relax you to the max.

Your therapist should make you feel completely comfortable, with your body covered during the treatment to keep you warm. By the end of the massage you should be floating out of the room.

As with all beauty treatments, you should keep yourself well hydrated as this will help to rid the body of all the built-up toxins after your massage.

Rasul Treatment

Why not book a fun rasul treatment for you and your hubby-to-be, or maybe even for a fun girly treat? The rasul treatment involves applying different types of clay to various parts of the body. The powers of heat, steam and mud penetrate your skin, nourishing, relaxing and energising it all at once.

You will need your friends to apply it to your back, and you can reciprocate… Once covered in the clay mud you relax in the steam room, letting the clay do its detoxing best. Your skin will feel super soft and de-stressed after you shower it off.

Most rasul chambers cater for two to four people at a time, and you should allow an hour for this treatment. If you want to go all out, you could have this treatment after your full body scrub. Enjoy!
