Who didn’t love our 1940’s and 1950’s movie stars like Veronica Lake, Marlene Dietrich and Rita Hayworth for their polished look. Old Hollywood glamour curls and deep-set side parting — hair smoothed at the roots with a cascade of glossy, sexy curls. Well, Hollywood glamour waves are back!
Achieving the Look
For perfect Hollywood glamour waves the hair should ideally be at least shoulder-length. That’s not to say you can’t achieve this look on shorter hair; Marlene Dietrich demonstrated this perfectly when her hair was shorter.
The colour should ideally look uniformed — no highlights for this glam look. Plus, keeping the hair beautifully conditioned will knock anyone off their feet when they see how the hair shines!
The hair can be swept to one side if it’s long enough, or for brides who would like to add a modern twist to this fabulous look, why not part the hair in the middle and style the hair to look slightly undone, by using your fingers to tousle the curls.
Hair Accessories
For hair accessories you could add a fresh flower or comb encrusted with jewels to hair swept to the side. Otherwise, my preferred look… nothing at all; the hair speaks for itself!
