2013 Wedding Hair Trends

Congratulations on your engagement! Now the fun part — organising your wedding. Once you have arranged the date, venue and dress you’ll start to look for inspiration/ideas on wedding hair and make-up. Here are a few wedding hair ideas which I think will be on-trend in 2013.

Chignon

The sleek chignon is a timeless classic and is perfect for a veil. If you feel it’s too severe, a loose bun at the nape will give you more softness.

Ponytail

Of course the classic ponytail is here to stay, and looks stunning and sexy for a beach wedding; try adding a little height on the crown.

20’s Wave

The movie, The Great Gatsby, is due to be released this May. Watch this space brides, the 20’s wave will be HOT! The beauty of this style is it looks great on both long and short hair.

Braids

Braids are huge for 2013, and one of my favourites is the waterfall braid, otherwise known as a fairytale braid. This styles gives so much elegance, fit for any princess. Another braid I love is the ever so popular fishtail. Loosening the braid and wearing on the side, randomly placing delicate flowers in between, will definitely give you a boho chic look.

Ballerina Bun

Dreamy, pretty ballerina buns will be making an appearance again this year — small or big, tight or loose, the choice is yours.

French Twist

The French twist was the typical wedding updo of the 1980s/90s, and was then taken over by chignons and buns. But the French twist is now back and is in great demand from all modern day brides-to-be. With so many different, beautiful versions it’s almost impossible to choose.
