What does Transformers Car Hire do?
We are a wedding transport company that hires out Bumblebee and Barricade from the popular movie saga Transformers.
How did Transformers Car Hire get started and how long has the business been going?
We started the company due to our love for American movie cars. Although we are a new business and only started the company in March, don’t let that fool you. We have over 10 years experience in the wedding industry and have just won “Most Popular Wedding Transport” in the Wedding Experts Awards.
Where is Transformers Car Hire based and which areas of the UK do you cover?
We are a national company with three regional offices, Manchester, Yorkshire and Surrey.
Who works at Transformers Car Hire?
We are keen to keep the business very family oriented. We have three directors, Glenn Coulthard (Manchester), Jason Carruthers (Yorkshire) and Robert Ledsom (Surrey). The directors are also the drivers and we have our loved ones help us at large events.
How many cars do you have available for weddings?
We have three cars, two 5th generation Chevrolet Camaros (Bumblebee) and a 2007 Ford Mustang Saleen Police Car (Barricade). All three cars have been lovingly converted to make them movie accurate.
What packages do you offer couples for their wedding?
We offer different packages and prices depending on individual requirements — it is best to contact the team and we will go through all the details together and quote you the best price.
Why should couples choose Transformers Car Hire for their wedding transport?
We like to think we offer an alternative to the classic car, a car with a little bit of American movie magic. Also, we are a great transport option for the groom to travel to the venue, instead of the best man’s car.
What do your drivers wear when chauffeuring?
We, as drivers, aim to be as discrete as possible, For weddings we must remember it’s the couple’s day and not ours, and all our drivers wear a smart suit. For other events we have a simple black polo shirt with the company logo.
What is the most popular car for brides?
We find that Barricade is a popular choice for the bride; I wonder if that is because on the side of the car it says, “to Punish and enslave”!
What is the most popular car for grooms?
Bumblebee is by far the most popular choice. The iconic style and colour, and the big roar of the V8 engine gets most grooms going.
Have you seen any trends in wedding transport this year?
We can only speak from our own experience of being so busy this year and continued bookings for next. It would seem that couples are a lot more open minded with their transport than just the classic car look.
Random question… If you could be a fly on the wall, whose wall would it be?
My Partner’s… lol. I think all men would agree with me on that one.
