We were extremely privileged to stay at the beautiful Bingham in Richmond-Upon-Thames recently, so we could check out the hotel and share our experience with you.
The Bingham is a unique, boutique hotel, located right on the banks of the River Thames by Richmond Bridge. This stunning Georgian townhouse has incredible views of the river, making it one of the most romantic locations for a wedding we have been to.
The hotel has such charm and character, with beautiful rooms to enjoy. From the elegant entrance and reception area and the relaxed, retro styled lounge bar, to the hotel restaurant that is so gorgeous you will want to sit there all day, taking in the views, and soaking up the sun that beams through the large windows. One of the wow factors (there are so many) is the delightful landscaped garden that the hotel looks out onto. From the garden is the river beyond, so imagine sitting out on the terrace with a cocktail, looking out at the view; just delightful!
Luxury Furnishings
We were invited to stay in one of the Superior River Double rooms which, as the name suggests, looks out over the River Thames. The beautiful room is decorated with luxury furnishings, elegant drapes and the softest, most luxurious bedding. Complete with a fabulous shower and a spa bath (which of course had to be tested), this room is the perfect place to enjoy your wedding night, or even your honeymoon. If you have your wedding at Bingham you could stay in one of the bedrooms with a four-poster bed, for that little extra luxury on your special day.
Stunning Food
The highlight of our stay was experiencing the gourmet cuisine the Bingham offers. We made our choices from the wedding breakfast menu, and we were not disappointed. Our high expectations were far exceeded, and the stunning food was complemented by the specially selected wine which was chosen for each course. All of the wines were outstanding, but we particularly enjoyed the Nero d’Avola, Calu red wine we had with our main.

We have experienced good food at many wedding venues across the country, but WOW! The lamb which we had was the most incredible lamb we have ever eaten… now that’s saying something!
The wedding breakfast menu options at the Bingham are extensive; there is something for everyone. They also offer a bespoke Tasting Menu where the Executive Chef will be delighted to create a unique multi-course Tasting Menu for your guests (for smaller groups), offering an exquisite culinary experience.
Weddings at the Bingham
Weddings and civil ceremonies at the Bingham take place in the beautiful Garden Rooms. The three interconnecting rooms are bathed with natural light and offer a neutral decor that can be transformed to your wedding style. The Garden Rooms open onto the picturesque river terrace, providing romantic views of the garden. Each room features a state-of- the-art sound system, mood lighting, climate control and air conditioning, plus a private bar can be organised. They can accommodate receptions of up to 150 standing, or 90 seated, as well as catering for smaller, cosier affairs.
Bingham Privée, exclusive hire of the entire property and garden including the Garden Rooms, terrace restaurant, bar and all 15 bedrooms can be arranged.
Imagine a wedding on a beautiful lawn overlooking the river, with a cute arch adorned with roses; the Bingham can make it a reality. (And make sure you wow your wedding guests with the lamb as your main!)
