Blue is a colour that’s becoming more and more popular for weddings; from subtle pale blue to royal blue. I actually had blue in my wedding styling many moons ago… and I love that it’s back with a vengeance!
This gorgeous ‘Something Blue’ styled shoot has so many beautiful styling elements. The very talented creative team worked their magic to produce such elegant and modern ideas for using blue in your wedding table styling.
There are two different looks to this shoot. The first is a soft, romantic look using watercolours, ombré and elegant tableware. The blue glassware and silk table runner really makes the tablescape come alive. The wedding cake is so unique, made with ombré layered rice paper — really pretty.
For the second look the colours are darker and more masculine, with a contemporary feel. I love the combination of navy blue and gold. The navy blue table linen really sets the scene for the tablescape, and the gold chargers and cutlery look so beautiful upon it.
Created by an amazing team, this ‘Something Blue’ wedding table styling inspiration really is awesome.
Soft and Romantic
“For this shoot we created two very different wedding styling looks using different shades of blue as the focus.
“For our first look, we wanted a soft and romantic feel, incorporating watercolours and calligraphy.
“Our long table had an oversized foliage table centre surrounded by delicate pale white flowers in blue stem vases. Blue hand-dyed silk runners and knotted ombré napkins complemented the blue glasses, elegant tableware and Louis chairs.
“The delicate calligraphy watercolour stationery was the perfect final touch.
“Layered rice paper gave a delightful texture to the beautiful watercolour ombré cake.”
Masculine Yet Elegant
“For our second look we wanted something a bit more masculine and crisp.
“We designed a contemporary tablescape of navy blue, gold and white using navy linen, Perspex Ghost chairs, and modern matt gold cutlery, gold rimmed glassware and tableware.

“The flowers were a mass of all white displays in a collection of modern vases.
“For those elegant finishing touches we used gold foiled navy stationery and a sleek, modern white and gold cake.”
