Are you ready to feast your eyes on some ethereal bridal inspiration today with these serene wedding ideas on Galiano Island? I love the simplicity of the shoot. The dazzling backdrop of the island, lake and rocks really sets the scene for such beauty, and the neutral colours and textures work in harmony. This concept lends itself perfectly to an elopement.
There are two bridal looks within this styling concept. For the first the bride wears a white wedding dress with a really deep plunging neckline that finishes as the waist, which looks incredible with the full skirt. The florals of pinks and oranges with large spiky parlour palm leaves give an edgy, contemporary look.
In the second bridal look I really love the oversized bouquet that the bride carries so gracefully. The large split leaf philodendron palm leaves frame the soft creams, yellows and browns. For this style the bride wears a pale blush dress with floaty skirt and high neckline which really complements the groom’s casual beige suit. This second look has a softer appeal.
So, no bells and whistles. Just a bride and groom on a beautiful island, all captured perfectly by Sierra Ashleigh Photography…
Serene Environment
“This beautiful styled shoot was from the recent Forage and Fern workshop on Galiano Island outside of Vancouver, British Columbia. The lovely blue hues of the island’s water against the smooth rock formations along the shoreline created a perfect, serene environment.
“The Leanne Marshall wedding dresses added incredible movement and creamy tones — pure magic. Bringing texture to the otherwise soft setting, the bouquets played with the shape of the bride’s body. They were the perfect element to add balance and organic beauty.
“Such an incredible team and setting on a peaceful, dreamlike island.”
