I’m so excited to feature this cool cactus styled wedding shoot with a rock ‘n’ roll vibe. Cactuses are being featured all over the place right now, including in wedding styling, and I for one love them. They are a quirky alternative to traditional wedding flowers, and perfect if you’re looking for ways to add botanical touches to your wedding.
These styling ideas are such fun. The botanical garden of Herrenhausen Palace in Hanover is a fabulous backdrop for this shoot, with the greenhouse bursting with vibrant cactuses in all shapes and sizes. A variety of cactuses displayed in an eclectic mix of vases and cans grace the tablescape, which also features a simple place setting set with a beautiful orchid. And with all the cacti and succulents surrounding the sweet treats, the dessert table looks like something straight out of the ‘desert’ (sorry). The cupcakes with iced cacti details look amazing.
The bride and groom are totally epic too, with their rock ‘n’ roll vibe… pink hair, tattoos galore, beards, man buns and a whole lot of love!
Diana Frohmueller tells us more about her inspiration behind this crazy, loved-up shoot…
Crazy Cacti
“Rieke from Milles Fleurs and myself wanted to do something different. More crazy. More fun. Something without lots of planning, uncomplicated, and without having a big storyboard. A bit different from the weddings you usually see in the summertime!
“Because we both love the light, smooth cactus green and the cacti themself we decided to ask the City if we could do a styled shoot in our botanical garden of Herrenhausen Palace in Hanover, Germany. We thought about a crazy Las Vegas style shoot, but that is not possible here! So, the crazy cacti love shoot was born.
“I knew already the male model, John Wolf, and told him about the shoot. He felt in love with it right away. When I asked Nati if she could imagine being part of this shoot she was also straight in! Every vendor we asked was on board within seconds, and we had such a fun time!”
