I’m so excited to inspire you with this exquisite shoot, photographed by Allen Tsai Photography. When I think about single blooming branches I usually imagine cherry blossom, but this shoot is all about beautiful magnolia. The serene nature of these pink and white magnolia spring wedding styling ideas really wows.
The concept is romantic yet contemporary, and balances modern elements with effortless style. It would look stunning for weddings in spring to summer when the magnolia tree is in full bloom.
The pink and white blossom of this particular magnolia provides a pastel colour palette along with romantic elegance. Simple styling lets the magnolia take centre stage, with just a few other key styling elements added including the fabulous cake and the incredible stationery.
The bride’s dress looks like it’s been made specifically to fit the concept, but actually this is the stunning Alexandra Grecco ‘Wilder’ wedding dress from The Magic Hour collection. With its sheer bodice and sleeves, and embroidered floral appliqué design that resemble tattoos, this is one of my all time favourite wedding dresses, so I was so excited to see it feature.
So, if you’re drawn to the idea of using a single type of blooming branch then I’m sure these gorgeous ideas will make you add the serene magnolia to your list!
Elegance and Refinement
“When Callista approached me with the design idea of using a single type of blooming branch I jumped at the idea! Magnolia are large, stately flowers, but also carry an air of elegance and refinement, and when used alone their beautiful shape and subtle colour variations shine.
“To show magnolias at their best we designed both low and high centrepieces — some with open flowers and some with buds. The bridal bouquet echoed this design, finished with a soft, silk ribbon bow.” — Gather Design Company
