A wedding in the Dordogne region of France conjures visions of romance at its finest, and this beautiful ‘Organic Chateau Love Story’ offers a mix of rustic charm and luxurious, contemporary styling.
The magnificent Chateau de Redon is the perfect wedding venue backdrop for Helaina Storey Wedding Design’s organic wedding styling concept. If you’ve visions of a romantic wedding with authentic surroundings then Chateau de Redon couldn’t be any more perfect!
A palette of rustic neutrals, dusky greys and pops of burgundy set the tone for the romantic styling, with an elegantly styled table in the centre of the Chateau’s courtyard creating a fabulous focal point. A beautiful foliage table runner of laurel, olive branches and eucalyptus falls gracefully at the end of the white tulle draped table, and the berries in the pretty flowers work so well with the authentic organic vibe. Flowers and foliage obviously play a big part in this styling, and I adore the incredible floral arch that frames the entrance.
In contrast to the abundance of flowers and foliage, the bridal styling is very minimalistic. The bride’s two outfits, a modern two-piece and a more traditional dress, show how this versatile styling concept could work with many bridal looks.
I hope you enjoy taking inspiration from the beautiful pictures of this organic wedding styling, taken by Anneli Marinovich Photography.
Authentic French Setting
“For this ‘Organic Chateau Love Story’ shoot I mainly based my design concept around the authentic French setting of the beautiful chateau venue. A real mix of rustic chic and luxurious, contemporary, high-end interiors, I opted for a palette of stony neutrals and pale, dusky greys. We used lots of different textures and greenery, and a dash of warm, autumnal purple-black hues added depth.
“It was key that the editorial be as authentic as possible and work seamlessly within its surroundings. Along with foraging most of the foliage from within the extensive, beautiful grounds of Chateau de Redon, the natural chemistry of our ‘couple’ helped achieve this.
“Our bride wore two stunning clean and crisp designs by Luna Bride. Both encapsulated the minimalist vibe of the shoot, reflected the modern, luxe interiors, and complemented her natural, understated make-up and tousled, laid-back locks.”
Wild and Natural
“A full stationery suite also followed our theme of raw, elegant simplicity. Stand out features included the spectacular floral arch, pampas grass ceremony altar and the incredible, wild and natural piece for Redon’s glorious winding staircase.
“Designed to work in juxtaposition with its backdrop, the outdoor tablescape included modern, grey Masters chairs and concrete candlestick holders. Simple tableware and natural, unstructured blooms added colour and texture. The perfectly pared-back cake design, styled with fruits and foliage from the grounds, was in keeping with the organic and authentic concept.
“The narrative was a simple, natural and intimate destination wedding in a contemporary yet rustic boutique setting. With stunning views across the Dordogne, France, Chateau de Redon created the perfect ambience for this.”
