Not all Christmas weddings have to be filled with baubles and Christmas trees. If you are having a winter or Christmas wedding and want to keep within the ‘theme’ of Christmas but not go the whole hog, how about using some Nordic inspiration? Today’s Nordic winter wedding shoot, captured by Ellie Grace Photography, gives some fabulous alternative ideas to the traditional Christmas wedding look.
The main features of Nordic decor are evergreen branches and trees, pine cones and green wreaths. We adore the ambiance that the creative team have achieved with this almost rustic look. The bridal look is exquisite too with the beautiful wedding dress with its plunging neckline and lace sheer lace sleeves.
You really are in for a treat with the beautiful ideas in this Nordic winter wedding shoot. Enjoy!
Avoiding Christmas
“I wanted to create a winter wedding shoot that had nothing to do with Christmas. Christmas shoots can sometimes be a bit cheesey, so I wanted to stay as far away from that as possible. Nordic is a really strong look, so I wanted to go down that route.
“I didn’t really give Julia, our hair and make-up artist, or Tracey, our florist, much direction. This was because I knew they would be able to create something wonderful with just the brief title ‘Nordic’. I was right!”
The Nordic Look
“With the help of The White Room, who lent us some appropriate dresses, we were able to complete the Nordic look in our stunning venue.
“A number of other wonderful suppliers also helped create this beautiful Nordic winter wedding shoot. It was a lot of fun to create on the day, even if it was absolutely freezing!”
