This dreamy fairytale of a styled wedding shoot did not turn out as originally planned! At first the team filled their mood board with dark and brooding influences and rich shades of oxblood and cherry. As you can see, the end result was a feminine and romantic boho luxe wedding wonderland of lavender, blush and metallics.
The styled shoot embodies a sense of enchantment that captivates you with its luxe bohemian appeal married with a strong lavender palette — a true yet unpredictable match made in heaven. The team wanted to give the lavender colour palette a modern, chic and elegant appeal, which I think they achieved!
The contemporary touches of ivory and metallics against the pastel lavender shade, set amongst an enchanting lavender field, created just the right balance.
Adorn Invitations told us how they put together these amazing lavender boho luxe wedding ideas, which Sephory Photography captured so perfectly…
Luxury and Glamour
“Though the vibe and theme for the day was quite relaxed, we wanted to entice our ‘guests’ with luxury and glamour. We created several stationery styles for the shoot including lavish features like intricate laser cut panelling and gilded foiling. Our head digital designer used a relaxed scripted font for that boho-chic element.
“We wrapped gold kitchenware tightly with satin ribbon and scripted name holders for the boho luxe wedding look. However, our showstopper was definitely our embellished cow skull centrepiece!”
Beautiful and Delicious
“We had the most delectable spread of sweet treats for our outdoor reception. A favourite from the day were the breathtaking macarons in shades of lilac and lavender, garnished with gold flakes and sprigs of lavender. Summery berry tarts complemented the colours in the floral arrangements, and the purple toned drinks were as beautiful as they were delicious.”
Free-Spirited Boho Traveller
“Our lovely bride Jasmine was the epitome of a free-spirited, carefree boho traveller. Wandering barefoot through the lavender field, we wanted to make sure that her look represented her personality.
“Brides shouldn’t feel restricted as to the silhouette of their dress. We actually had three looks with very different shapes — all beautifully suited our boho luxe wedding vibe. The intricate lace detail on the unique, embellished back of our low-fi Maggie Sottero gown — stunning!
“For beauty we kept everything lightweight and natural. The heavy, contoured look may be taking over Instagram, but you don’t want any heavy trend-based looks. For our bride we used a shimmering rose gold for her eyes, paired with a taupe matte lip for balance. With a shimmer based primer and highlight on her skin she truly glowed from within. Long, wavy hair with florals added an enchanting, feminine twist that didn’t look too over the top.”
Wild and Effortless Look
“Our floral arrangements could have acted as the only décor piece throughout the shoot — they were that impressive. We relied heavily on greenery in the arrangements to break up the colours whilst portraying a wild and effortless look.
“Greenery paired with roses gave a romantic touch, and blush and purple-toned wild flowers adhered to the lilac colour palette. Succulents were also an important element in this theme — a match made in heaven when paired with geodes and stones. They also bring on a more modern and minimal feel amongst the provincial roses.”
Natural Décor
“The purpose of our indoor tablescape was to show brides how you can inject alternative and boho styled elements and yet still fashion an elegant and conventional look. The large timber tables beautifully suited the natural décor in our tablescape. Amethyst crystals, rose and clear quartz strewn around the table surface projected an ethereal boho influence. If you’re a little thrown off by the eccentric nature of geodes, pair them with geometric vases with art-deco nuances for a more modern twist. We again used the metallic gold cutlery and kitchenware with sleek lines which contrasted the chaos of our wild greenery and roughly outlined stones.
“Look at incorporating a monogram or a hot wax seal with your initials to personalise your own stationery set. Finish with a satin ribbon and you’ll have a beautifully detailed set that will be sure to impress.”
