Hepburn Collection Bridal Hair Shoot

Our latest styled shoot features gorgeous bridal hair inspiration from the Hepburn Collection. Severin Hubert created a selection of hairstyles to complement both real and hair flowers for this shoot, which took place at Fetcham Park in Surrey, and was photographed by Marianne Taylor Photography.

The stunning dresses worn in the shoot were provided by Minna…

“I have always loved Marianne’s style of photography: very natural , nothing over styled, and nothing too bridal. In this shoot we were focusing on gorgeous natural make-up, hair, and Steph’s stunning flowers; our simple dresses provided the perfect backdrop for this shoot. I loved the results as our brides tend to go for this look; they are not big on heavy make-up nor elaborate flower arrangements. For the shoot, we used our gorgeous Emily dress, made from delicate Scottish lace, off-the-shoulder style Alyssa dress, and our floaty and ethereal Dorothy dress.”

Steph from Fairynuff Flowers was on hand to transform each hairstyle with beautiful flowers, and the models’ looks were completed by make-up artist Ana Ospina…

“I had worked previously with Severin Hubert on other shoots, weddings and at The National Wedding Show where we met and worked on the catwalk shows together, and I was asked to be involved in this shoot at the last minute. I know Severin wanted to showcase some sleek, sophisticated yet different hair up bridal looks, so I went for classic, clean yet modern takes on my make-up looks, not too vintage and not too much either, just enough to draw the eye onto something pretty but still keep the focus on the hair.

“When we changed the hair to the looser, softer hair down styles the lips got a little glossier, the blush got a little bolder, and a little more highlight was added to the complexion to catch the light and give a soft dewy finish to the skin. When you have worked with someone before you get to know their style and we have created some fab looks following just a quick conversation and observation on how the hair is going and what the models are wearing. I am then already looking through images on Pinterest to say “OK, I am going for something along the lines of this look” which will work well with the model’s skin tone, the hairstyle, and the style of dresses being worn, to create a finished look that will work photographically and have a visual impact.”

Severin explained the idea behind the shoot…

“Using flowers in the hair is on trend for the 2013 bride, and as a hair designer I wanted to create a selection of hairstyles that would complement both real and hair flowers. Organising a portrait shoot was the perfect answer for showcasing both.

“Fresh flowers are the ultimate accessories for a romantic wedding hairstyle. Softness and not too structured was the key look, and spring was in the air so I wanted this to reflect in the hairstyles. Steph of Fairynuff Flowers understood my concept and set about creating her magic. Together, I hope we complemented both the hair and flowers, and inspired brides looking for something dreamy and romantic.

“Creating a low bun with a shell effect and adding small flowers gives sophistication and elegance to this style.

“Pretty messy updo; artfully tousled tresses piled on top of the head, creating a plait or two, is perfect for that outdoor wedding. This time we used larger blooms to place in the hair.

“The fishtail braid is simple and effortless; perfect for a Boho bride. This style looks gorgeous when tiny delicate flowers are placed along the braid.
