Copper, wood, beautiful florals and a whole lot of pretty — tick! This wedding inspiration shoot set in Halifax, Nova Scotia, shows how you can combine copper and wood for a really cool urban wedding styling look.
This styling is perfect for a warehouse or urban loft wedding venue, or indeed any venue with a blank canvas for you to style. The creative team worked their magic to create a plethora of awesome wedding styling ideas that are simple and easy to recreate for your own big day.
The tablescape takes centre stage for this theme. Chunky wooden tables are laid with chic white square plates with copper coloured napkins and a copper geometric menu on top, ornate copper cutlery, votives and plant holders. This simple design works so well and creates a modern urban look, finished perfectly with clear ghost chairs at each place setting.
The florals are so beautiful. I especially love the bridal bouquet with white chrysanthemums, white and peach roses and white lilac surrounded by pretty eucalyptus. Not only are the colours beautiful together, it must smell divine!
There are many copper geometric details incorporated into this styling; from the menu cards and cute heart on the wedding invitation and place name cards, to the glass box for the cards and the copper wire shapes that accentuate the florals.
The cool two-tier wedding cake follows the theme too, with copper leaf around the top. I love the rosemary sprigs around the bottom, giving a nod to its rustic charm.
There are so many amazing details in this shoot. I hope you enjoy looking through these fabulous pictures by La Vie In Pictures.
Urban Feel
“The inspiration for our shoot came after Kiss The Bride opened a new location in Halifax, Nova Scotia. We wanted to highlight the beauty of Downtown Halifax. As it’s such a diverse and fantastic city the possibilities for a beautiful wedding are endless.
“We wanted to keep an urban feel to the shoot, so used copper, wood and brick to achieve this. The floral designs played off these materials, and yes, that is a real artichoke in the bridal bouquet! Our models, a real married couple, were celebrating their fifth wedding anniversary, so being part of the shoot was a real treat for them.”
