A bride in a gorgeous wedding dress, fab floral creations and a field of delicate purple lavender makes for a whole lot of pretty! Make-up artist and photographer Carissa collaborated with a team of wedding professionals to create this beautifully simple bridal portrait inspiration.
If you are feeling the pressure of having your picture taken on ‘the big day’ then a bridal photo shoot is a great idea. It will help you get to know your wedding photographer and feel more comfortable and relaxed in front of the camera. As you can see, you don’t need an all-singing, all-dancing shoot with props galore either… just find a stunning location and smile!
For me, the best thing about this shoot is not only sharing the beautiful images, but also showcasing the work of fabulous suppliers close to our home county of Wiltshire. Enjoy!
Truly Beautiful
“The Cotswold Lavender fields in Snowshill, Gloucestershire, are truly beautiful. Field upon field of purple flowers surrounded by Cotswold scenery; it sure is a stunning location.
“I love styled shoots and being a part of them. You get to work with fabulous suppliers and create so much inspiration for weddings. For this shoot I wanted to focus on bridal portraits, as we often hear brides say “I hate having my photo taken”. The idea of standing in front of the camera can be daunting so I wanted to show you can have fun and, with a few simple poses, create a stunning selection of portraits you will look back on and smile.
“We have lots of beautiful venues here in the Cotswolds, but for this shoot I wanted a blank canvas. No décor or room shots, just a bride in a dress with pretty make-up and flowers, and that’s exactly what we created.”
Bouquet and Matching Flower Crown
“We needed the perfect wedding dress. Nothing too big or too tight as we wanted our model to be able to walk with ease and swish the dress if needed. We wanted a boho/festival style dress, and Willoughby and Wolf provided Valencia by Katya Katya London, a gorgeous off the shoulder dress with an added belt for detail.
“As beautiful as the lavender fields are, we also wanted to make sure the flowers stood out. Louise from Wendy House Flowers created a beautiful bouquet and matching flower crown. Featuring copper, green, gold and peach colours, the flowers complemented the lavender perfectly.
“Working together and knowing the colour pallet beforehand was great for me (Make-Up by Carissa). Used softly on the model’s eyes, copper was the standout colour, which I enhanced using complementing make-up and nude tones on her lips. With the model’s hair down and natural, the flower crown looked stunning.
“The shoot was fantastic. Our model, Becky, was great at taking direction from Paul of Capture Every Moment. By working together as a team we were able to showcase every detail and a selection of bridal portrait ideas for brides to be.”
