Today I’m injecting some winter vibes with this dazzling blue and copper winter wedding inspiration shoot, styled by Myrtle Floral Design and Styling and captured by Werner J Photography.
The colour palette of blue and copper, combined with trendy watercolour, works so well for a winter wedding or elopement. With a unique design and gorgeous copper calligraphy text, the watercolour wedding stationery sets the tone for what’s to come.
The shoot is set within the incredible Hertford Country Hotel in South Africa. The white walls of the room add a pure base for the styling and really make the decor stand out.
Rustic table styling gives a warming feeling. Gorgeous blue velvet and white tulle table runners, wooden chargers, geometric napkins and dark ceramic tableware sit upon the natural wooden table. Foliage drapes elegantly onto the table amongst modern copper candlestick holders and wine coolers, and the copper bistro chairs are a fantastic touch to complete the styling.
The bridesmaids look stunning in blush and copper sparkly dresses that complement the bride’s stunning wedding dress with sexy lace top and floaty tulle skirt. In contrast, the groom’s casual attire of camel coloured chinos with a blue checked jacket is very relaxed, but works perfectly.
This is one very cool styled shoot, showcasing a modern take on a winter wedding. I know you will love these ideas as much as I do…
Elegance and Warmth
“For this styled shoot we wanted to create an intimate and cosy wedding, focusing on comfort while still portraying elegance and warmth.
“We chose Hertford Country Hotel as the backdrop for a very intimate table setting with only the closest of friends sharing a feast. When deciding on colours we wanted to incorporate dark blues, blacks and copper, and the all white venue gave us a blank canvas to add the dark and cosy colours we wanted.
“One element we wanted to achieve was family fun and good laughs. Having a winter wedding inside can be anything but boring if you have the right company and great food. We even included a caricaturist to add to the intimate stay indoors element.”
Cosy Table
“The table décor was mostly dark blue, black and copper in colour. A dark moonlight blue velvet runner, soft grey/stone tulle side runners, and custom-made watercolour cushions and pattern napkins helped create the cosy look and feel we wanted for the table. For the florals we wanted to focus on less is more, using seasonal winter blooms. Bespoke stationery included a mix of soft watercolours and modern patterns with a touch of copper foiling.
“The most delicious dishes added to the cosy winter feel of the table, from a smoked beetroot and roasted red pepper soup starter, to a colourful side salad with charred unions, exotic tomatoes, golden beetroot and wintergreens. A warm and creamy main meal of coconut chicken korma with broccoli confetti followed.
“Our collection of beautiful dresses were out of this world! Every little detail, from the lace back to copper sequinned dresses and dark blue tulle skirts and crop tops, complemented our colours perfectly. Dark lips was the key make-up element to accentuate our beautiful bride.
“Werner from Werner J Photography captured everything to perfection. His attention to detail made each vendor’s work stand out in its own right.”
