This fabulous Art Nouveau wedding inspiration oozes 1920s charm and elegance. There are so many beautiful styling details that showcase the decadence of Art Nouveau, and I am delighted to share them with you.
The peacock feathers, soft colours and natural elements add such a romantic feel to the shoot. I adore the bride’s beaded wedding dress, again with a 1920s look.
The styling team has created such a visual delight, captured perfectly by Inge Kooiman.
Rich History
“The location for this styled wedding shoot was Parkhotel Hugo de Vries, a gorgeous Art Nouveau venue built in 1906. The Parkhotel has a rich history as well a lovely 1920’s style. There is a great stained glass window with a peacock depicted, and an intimate, rustic ambiance. We attempted to take the rich history and restore an Art Nouveau wedding style with a bit of a modern twist.”
Feathers and Soft Colours
“One of the definitive stylish features of the 1920’s look is the use of peacock feathers, which is why they are one of the focal points of the theme. We used peacock feathers in the centrepiece for the dinner tables and ostrich feathers in the bridal bouquet, deliberately choosing gentle and soft colours such as champagne, grey and green, with a flair of pastel rose flowers. The antique table on which all of this magic took place included serving utensils dating back to 1919.
“The wedding cake, with feathers, thistles and golden speckles, is a work of art.”
Vintage Dress
“The eye-catching vintage dress featured a skirt with a short train, and a loose top made of heavy, beaded material, with typical 1920’s butterfly sleeves.”
1920’s Make-Up
“Red lipstick and smokey eyes created a 1920’s make-up look, and the hair featured a handmade hair accessory with beautifully incorporated peacock feathers.
“I hopes this shoot takes people back in time, but with a hint of the modern present and inspiration for the future.”
