Oh my goodness, just how cute is this shoot? This afternoon tea in the park wedding shoot, created by Jude Middleton Photography and some very talented wedding suppliers, is to give inspiration and ideas for the younger members of the bridal party.
Sometimes children in a bridal party can be a little overlooked, so these pictures show ways to inject a little fun for them.
We love the simple styling and fun elements of this shoot…
“The shoot shows the differing styles of a young flower girl and teen groomsman, but then shows them having fun together as brother and sister. It is meant to show parents/brides and grooms they don’t need to worry about the differences in different aged younger members of a bridal party, and that kids getting along together is really all that matters (not that people don’t already know that, but it’s nice to see it in practice).
“The look is simple, to show that you don’t need to go to a lot of fuss to include children in your wedding party. Their personalities are usually enough to get them noticed, plus you don’t want your kids getting stressed out and not coping because of too much ‘fuss’.
“We shot in an old bandstand in Guildford, Surrey, on a typically grey, English weather kind of day, but with beautiful cakes and silk flowers to brighten things up. The floral design is all in silk, reflecting a growing trend in the UK and a dramatic increase in the quality available, using peonies, roses and lavender. The cakes are handmade by Krishanthi Armitt, including the incredible sugar flowers which look so real you just want to pick them! The strawberry cake is covered in a fresh Swiss meringue. A gorgeous Czech fine bone porcelain coffee set, purchased from a charity/thrift shop, completes the look.”
