We recently stayed at The Duke of Cornwall Hotel in Plymouth, Devon, and experienced the splendour of this magnificent hotel for ourselves. We will share more about our experience with you soon. But today we have the amazing pictures of this 1950s glamour inspired wedding shoot, captured by the fabulous Toby Lowe Photography.
Toby’s pictures really showcase the features that The Duke or Cornwall Hotel has to offer. The grandeur and charm really shine through, and we just love the way the creative team have styled this shoot. The Duke’s newly refurbished Hayward Room really is the perfect backdrop for the styling.
Toby told us a bit about the inspiration behind the shoot…
“When I walked around The Duke of Cornwall Hotel the history and heritage of the building struck me. There’s a feeling of grandeur throughout the hotel, from the entrance and staircase to the beautiful period features of the rooms.”
Period Charm
“As a long-standing fan of 1950s cinema, I realised The Duke’s period charm would work perfectly as a backdrop for a vintage wedding shoot. It was a chance to recreate some of the style of those classic Audrey Hepburn films.
“The shoot was set in The Duke’s Hayward Room, which has been recently refurbished. It looks stunning, and the room played a big part in the images I created.”
Spinning Top
“I’m pleased with the whole shoot, but without a doubt the dress spinning shot is my favourite from the day; it came out just how I imagined it.
“I loved the chance to work in this fantastic building and recapture some of the timeless glamour of the classic Hollywood era.”
