Today we are featuring this incredibly pretty country vintage wedding. Kirsty and Simon wanted to create a fun, relaxed wedding while keeping some of their traditional values too. We love the pretty flowers and bunting that tied their theme together, but the best thing for us about the wedding is the way they entertained their guests with Hula Hoops and Space Hoppers! Oh, and we also love the Jimmy Choo’s, of course!
“Right from the outset we both knew that we wanted a wedding with traditional values, yet relaxed, individual and fun. St Mary’s is a stunning village church and provided the perfect venue for our vows, whilst The Punchbowl gave us that informal, friendly feel that suits our personality perfectly. The surrounding fields and Packwood house nearby meant that we had the perfect setting for our photographs too, and the low sunlight flared shots were the icing on the cake!
“The style of our wedding was a country vintage feel with a hint of modern seen through our outfits, flowers and chosen style of photography. The Punchbowl is a place we’ve dined and drank at many times, and we knew right from the beginning that it was the perfect setting for a more relaxed wedding. It is such a beautiful pub, but to put our twist on it we made all the accessories and decor ourselves.
“We handmade all of the table decorations including flower filled jam jar centrepieces, guest place settings cut from local wood, personalised menus, cutlery message tags and hessian favour bags filled with ‘love’ themed sweets! Each guest had a ‘moustache on a stick’ and ‘Champagne bubbles’, which went down a treat! The venue was filled with flowers, balloons, and meters and meters of homemade bunting!
“We made full use of the beautiful Punchbowl garden and the gorgeous sunshine on the day by entertaining our guests with Hula Hoops and Space Hoppers; this really helped create fun and laughter and meant that old friends and new came together in a natural way, which was great for us to see!
“Our first dance song was a tricky one to pick. It had to mean something to us and had to lend itself towards our passion for electronic music — after all, we did meet in Ibiza 11 years ago! Our chosen song was Sébastien Tellier — La Ritournelle, a song with emotion and beautiful lyrics that we feel tells the story of our love for each other. The song builds up slowly with some emotional strings and really comes to life when the vocal comes in, which was perfect for our first dance being surrounded by all of the people that we love!
“They say that your wedding day is the best day of your life, but we couldn’t prepare ourselves for just how perfectly magical it was going to be. It was genuinely a day that we will never forget; the best day of our lives, full of love, laughter and lots of dancing! We just want to go back and do it all again!”
