We have recently featured a few weddings that have been planned in a short space of time, but today’s wedding holds our record for being planned in the shortest time. Sophie and Kyle planned their fabulous wedding in under three months!

We love that they married on the 7th (of January) in a place called ‘On the 7th’ — perfect or what? It was the ideal setting for this stylish wedding.

Sophie wore an ankle length crochet lace dress, with a shorter dress underneath allowing the light to accentuate the beautiful detailing of the dress; really beautiful and unique. And wait until you see Sophie’s gorgeous shoes…

With Manchester as the backdrop, and thanks to the talents of Rebecca Parsons Photography, Sophie and Kyle have some very special pictures to treasure forever.

On the 7th

“The proposal was all very romantic… Kyle popped the question over an Indian takeaway in our new home. He is in the Royal Navy so is often away, but mainly comes back home at weekends. Shortly after moving into our new home Kyle broke the news he has received his new drafting and would be going away to America for three years in January 2017. So, casually while eating our takeaway he asked ‘Sooo, will you marry me?’

“We were engaged in November and getting married in two months’ time, on Saturday 7th January 2017. I would like to say it was all carefully thought out — getting married at On the 7th in Salford Quays. Actually that was the date which was available and we committed to right from word go.

“We weren’t looking for a traditional church wedding venue, and both being from Manchester loved the idea of having a Manchester backdrop on our photos. As soon as we arrived at the venue we knew it was the one. It suited our quirky characters and we loved the laid-back feel the place had.”

So Many Compliments

“My dress was a cream crochet style lace dress, down to the ankle, with a shorter under dress and slit up the back. It had a high neck and small cap sleeves. My blue floral shoes were my favourite part of the outfit though — I received so many compliments.

“Our wedding cake was from Marks and Spencer. It was a three tier cake — the top tier fruit cake, second tier chocolate sponge and bottom Victoria sponge (something for everyone). We decorated it with ribbon, roses and gypsophila, and it stood on a wooden log my dad had carved our initials into.

“The colour scheme was minimal, with the flowers mainly white with a hint of light blue fuchsia and blue thistle. I wanted my bouquet to look like I had grabbed the flowers from a meadow. It was a vintage style hand tied bouquet, with a mixture of fuchsia, gypsophila, white lisianthus and blue thistle. There was a lot of greenery in the bouquet which looked great against the white flowers.

“We lined the ceremony aisle with large hurricane vases. They had a pillar candle in them and gypsophila covering the bottom, creeping up the vase. On each table at the wedding breakfast we had a dusky pink/minky vase containing large white hydrangeas, more gypsophila, blue thistles and some dark green eucalyptus for contrast. They looked so good everyone thought they were fake.”

Treated Like Royalty

“The venue was fantastic. All the staff at On the 7th worked hard to make sure everything ran smoothly, and Kyle and I were treated like royalty. Sarah, our wedding planner, had the task off organising our wedding in under three months, and pulled it off brilliantly.

“I would highly recommend our photographer, Rebecca Parsons. She was brilliant and made Kyle and I feel at ease. The photographs are all so natural and arty, and we love the urban backdrop to the photos. I particularly love the night ones; they look so glamorous.

“On the day just live the moment — it goes so so fast. Don’t let anything get to you, ignore any hiccups there may be, and just enjoy yourself.”
