This week’s beautiful real wedding pictures, taken by James Melia, are from the wedding of Jane and Paolo. They based their wedding theme on Art Deco, and because nothing matched their wedding had a relaxed, laid back feel.
We absolutely love Jane’s Jenny Packham dress which suits the style of wedding perfectly, as do the mismatched bridesmaid dresses. The styling of this wedding is so beautiful; from the gramophone they placed flowers in, to the vintage style bouquet which Jane made herself…
“Our wedding theme was loosely based around art deco, with a vintage creams and dirty pinks colour scheme. We wanted a laid back relaxed look with nothing matching. My four bridesmaids all wore different dresses and the groomsmen wore suits in different colours.
“We were married in a church service at St. Michael and All Angels, Hathersage. I walked down the aisle to Butterfly Waltz by Brian Crain, and Paolo and I walked back down aisle to Grupo Capobianco’s instrumental version of All Yu Need is Love by The Beatles. Our reception took place at Losehill House Hotel in Hope, which we chose because of its intimate feel and beautiful surroundings.
“We decorated the tables by placing birdcages in middle, and the table names were some of our favourite records. We used vintage vogue cover postcards for the women’s place names, with vintage penguin book cover postcards for the men. In the evening we hired a vintage booth with props and a Polaroid camera to take funny pictures.
“I wanted a vintage dress and chose Eden by Jenny Packham in Platinum, which I knew instantly was the one as soon as I tried it on! I also wore shoes by Rachel Simpson, a birdcage veil with beaded clip, and a Georg Jenson necklace which was a present from Paolo on the wedding morning.”
