Anja and Charl’s luxe winter wedding at Vondeling vineyard near Cape Town oozes elegance and charm. At the vineyard there is a white fairytale chapel that combines old world charm with modern elegance — such a unique and beautiful place to exchange vows. Anja arrived at the chapel in a 1956 Classic Rover in racing green.
Anja and Charl chose to have a winter wedding. In keeping with the season Anja wore a white wedding dress with the most exquisite detail, including long sheer and lace sleeves, stunning scalloped edge train, eye-catching plunging lace neckline and sexy plunging back. The detail of this dress is so divine. To keep warm Anja wore a cute fur wrap around her shoulders.
Anja’s bouquet of beautiful luscious deep burgundy red, white and cream roses framed with eucalyptus contrasted her dress beautifully. Charl wore a complementing buttonhole with a deep red rose and sprig of eucalyptus, and he even matched his tie and socks with the deep burgundy red.
The floral arrangements in the chapel complemented Anja’s bridal blooms, and the reception tablescapes were elegant yet simple. Floral arrangements placed on round mirrors with candles in pretty cut glass votives added to the winter ambiance. Each place setting was laid with a silver charger and glass plate with a napkin wrapped with an elegant laser-cut paper design. The top table for Anja and Charl was set in front of the cosy fire with a long mirror adorned with floral arrangements and candles in tall class candlestick holders.
This vineyard wedding is so elegant and full of winter wedding must-haves. I hope you enjoy looking through these pretty pictures by Michelle Du Toit.
Something Different
“Our wedding day was truly the best day of our lives. Even though it was a very cold day, we would not have it any other way. We wanted something different so decided on a winter wedding.
“We would highly recommend getting a barista bar for a winter wedding and especially for destination weddings where the guests have a long way home.
“One of the best decisions we made was booking a caricaturist for the pre-drinks. We wanted to get something fun to keep the guests entertained while we were busy with our couple photo shoot. We also used it as the favours and our guests absolutely loved it!”
