A Wedding on the Shores of Lake Maggiore, Italy

We are totally in love with this Italian wedding; how amazing would it be to have an outdoor ceremony like this one, right on the edge of Lake Maggiore, nestled under the trees?

After the ceremony, the couple had an elegant, traditional hotel reception, and took a trip on a speedboat to the Borromean island of Isola Bella.

“We never envisaged a particular theme for our wedding — we wanted our colour scheme to be white and pink, our wedding had to be relaxed and definitely ‘summerish’, but essentially we wanted to get married in a magical location surrounded by the Italian and Swiss alps, and thought it was just too good to be true when we found Baveno on the beautiful shores of lake Maggiore.

“Little personal details such as printing our own wine labelled bottles and placing a bottle in each of the guest’s bedrooms along with a welcome greeting was our way of saying thank you for coming. Our menu’s were printed at home in Norway, ready for the amazing traditional Italian festive board provided by the hotel. Our wedding adventure was so perfect — by planning ahead and having our wedding planner to hand on the day ensured it ran like a dream.

“Apart from the moment of saying I do and marrying the man of my dreams, and sharing our wonderful day with our guests, the underlying special memory was enjoying a quick visit via speedboat to the Borromean island of Isola Bella in the middle of the lake. It was so romantic and we cannot believe good the photographs are!

“Isola Bella means ‘beautiful island’ and it was a special and stunning place we would definitely love to visit again one day. Getting married on the shore of Lake Maggiore was a dream come true, and we would encourage any potential couples thinking of the Italian lakes to look at our images and take a leap of faith.”
