Jitka and Honza didn’t want a big wedding with the whole shebang. Instead they chose to marry under the falling autumn leaves in an intimate forest wedding. Just their daughter, best man and Jitka’s best friend Eliška, who was also their wedding photographer, were there.
Jitka loves a bit of rock so opted to wear a leather jacket and boots with her wedding dress, which looked amazing. Her matching bridal bouquet and floral headband completed the look perfectly.
After the ceremony the couple and their bridal party went to a wonderful restaurant, Drmalská Myslivna, located in a picturesque valley at the foot of the Ore Mountains. Here they enjoyed a fabulous lunch set on a woodland styled table decorated with moss, twigs and conkers.
We love how intimate their forest wedding ceremony was. Who needs a church packed full of people when you can have those nearest and dearest to you under the trees.
We adore these pictures by Eliška of Khiria.
Enough Company to Have Fun With
“We decide to get married alone in the forest because we simply felt that big weddings aren’t made for us. I was in the 7th month of pregnancy and I just wanted to spend the day with my best friend, our daughter, Honza and his best man. It was enough company to have fun with.
“Because of my pregnancy I felt tired, so I didn’t want to dance; our wedding ended in a late afternoon. We just had a ceremony and great lunch after. We then sat for hours and chatted with each other; that made the wedding more special than dancing until midnight.”
Rock and Autumn Mood
“I am not a traditional girl. I listen to rock music so I wanted to put a rock feel into my wedding wardrobe, so I chose a black bow, boots, and a leather jacket. My bouquet worked with the rock and autumn mood perfectly. It was so great, untraditional, and I especially loved the black and white striped bow!
“To reach our forest wedding setting we had to enter a deer park. I secretly wished some deer would appear during the ceremony, but sadly they didn’t. We were close to mountain spring water, surrounded by a lot of colourful leaves, and when we said ‘yes’ a small batch of them fell on our heads. It was such a magical moment that I will cherish forever.
“The table setting I made myself. My daughter Miriam and I collected chestnuts and branches, and the day before the wedding I dug some moss in the forest. I just bought the napkins in Ikea and some little decorations.”
