We always love featuring weddings that have a personal touch, and today’s real wedding is no exception. With a little help from their friends and family, Richard and Clare created the perfect homespun wedding to share with their loved ones. We particularly like the homemade photo bunting, which included pictures of their parents on their wedding days, and the bunting tied in nicely with their pin-up postcard guest messages.
The wedding reception took place in a field at Sandridgebury Farm in the Hertfordshire countryside, and Bristol wedding photographer Joseph Hall Photography has captured the details of this wedding spectacularly, giving Richard and Clare perfect memories of their special day.
We love this wedding, and hope you do too…
“The theme we chose was ‘homespun’, and we had a huge amount of help and input from our family and friends. After choosing purple for our bridesmaids dresses we knew we wanted to run with this colour, and I also wanted lots of green to show off the lovely outdoor setting. We had some serious pom-pom making, bunting sewing, paper dove cutting, and jam jar painting sessions!
“I was so proud of my mum for creating the photo bunting, which included photos of both mine and Rich’s parents on their wedding days. It was a great point of interest for guests too as the majority of them featured on it somewhere.
“Our tables at the reception were themed by countries as Rich and I are keen travellers. Each table list looked like a luggage label, and a friend of ours was kind enough to put together some brilliant table signs incorporating photos of us on our travels.
“I enjoy crafting so I made all the save the dates, invitations, and the orders of service myself. We decided to have a postcard washing line instead of a regular guestbook, where guests were able to choose a postcard to write their message on before pegging them to the line. There were some hilarious ones as the night progresses, as people drank more and more homemade sloe gin!”
