A Doctor Who Themed Wedding in Norfolk, Virginia

A very cool blue wedding dress, the whole bridal party in pumps, handmade paper flower bouquets with personal touches AND the 10th Doctor’s sonic screwdriver as the bride’s bouquet handle, an abundance of Doctor Who memorabilia and details; this wedding is filled to the brim with styling details that make it so unique. “We wanted to have a wedding that was very us, yet unexpected. Our family loves Doctor Who and we thought a Doctor Who themed wedding would be really fun and special to ourselves and our kids.

“We played various songs from Doctor Who before the ceremony, The Long Song for the bridal party processional, and the Doctor Who TV theme as I walked down the aisle.

“I made the bouquets myself using origami and tissue paper flowers, and flowers made from paper printed with The Exploding Tardis Van Gough art, a picture of my deceased son, Nimora, and the hospital card with my stillborn son’s handprints and footprints. The handle of my bouquet was the 10th Doctor’s sonic screwdriver — he’s my favourite doctor!

“We found the candles and vases at yard sales, as well as nearly all of the frames for the signs and pictures, which we then spray painted. The props for the photo booth were printed and assembled by Scott and our friends, mostly at the venue on the morning of the wedding!”
