Today we have something a little different to share with you. Following a summer of festivals, I’m very excited to share this cool Woodstock inspired wedding.
Alice and Ben’s ‘Wedstock’ festival wedding is so vibrant, unique and fun. There are so many amazing details, but one of my favourites is Alice and Ben’s attire. Alice wore an incredible lace wedding dress with large floating sleeves, and Ben wore a very cool, relaxed suit, bright shirt (the funkiest shirt I have seen for a wedding!) and cravat — such a cool couple! And wait until you see what the celebrant wore!
The wedding took place in an orchard that belongs to Alice’s uncle, and was the perfect spot for this laid-back wedding. The whole wedding was bright, bold and fun. I love every one of the styling details; the origami birds, pom poms, chair ribbons, fun signs around the venue… it all added to the ambience of the day.
As well as the fabulous pictures by Jacob Boodrie, we also have a very special video of Alice and Ben’s amazing day. This is a really cool time-lapse film created by Time-Lapse Tales. It’s an innovative style of capturing weddings and experiences by blending videography with photography. Isn’t it cool!
Fun-Loving People
“We met at university where we lived in halls together, and started off as best friends. I proposed to Ben with an impromptu proposal in bed one Sunday afternoon, but Ben got jealous that I’d beaten him to it. So, he decided to propose back to me on a boat in the Hudson River in New York.
“We wanted to have a festival wedding to reflect the fun-loving people we are. The wedding styling was bohemian chic, based on Woodstock 1969 with lots of colour. Our clothing was inspired by Woodstock too, but I also wanted to look like a forest elf from Lord of the Rings.

“Our friend Matt married us. During our ceremony we sang ‘Say a Little Prayer’ and ‘Lean On Me’ rather than hymns, and there was also lots of singing later in the evening around the bonfire.
“We drank local beer and cider as we listened to music performed by our bands, friends and family. A fish and chip van provided the evening food before we danced with our guests.
“Our advice for other couples would be to keep your wedding simple and do what’s right for you. Also, if you can afford to, consider hiring a wedding planner. They will make things easy and coordinate your day so no one in your party has to (although my mum did a great job).”
