A Lego Movie inspired wedding cake, a poodle wearing a bow tie, and bridesmaids wearing the most beautiful flock-patterned skirts; this wedding is COOL!

James and Emma didn’t want a traditional wedding or anything too regimented, so they opted for a wedding that stood out from the crowd. After the wedding ceremony the couple and their guests headed to the local pub and had a wonderful, relaxed afternoon of drinking and eating, and then partied into the night.

Thank you to the fabulous Jonny Barratt Photography for the amazing pictures of this fab wedding. And wait until you see the Lego wedding cake… it really is awesome!

The More Colour the Better

“We married at St Nicholas church in Chislehurst, followed by a wedding reception at The Bickley. I don’t really like regimented wedding themes so I was keen for our wedding to just be colourful. As it was summer it was a case of the more colour the better.

“I chose the bridesmaids’ skirts and told them to choose their own tops to go with it. However, they all got black tops… I was like “Nooooo! You each have to choose a different, fun colour”. The night before the wedding they all did a little fashion show for me wearing nice pastel colour tops.”

From the Heart

“My absolute favourite wedding details were the presents I got for my bridesmaids and maid of honour. Having been in a wedding party before I knew I wanted to give them a gift that was from the heart. I got them each a charm bracelet with a charm that reminded me of our relationship.

“James’ wedding speech was lovely. He only ever really expresses his emotions in cards, so to hear him say such lovely things about me in front of all those people was a wonderful surprise.”

Lego Wedding Cake

“I also loved our Lego Movie inspired wedding cake. It was kind of a last minute decision, but it’s one of our favourite movies and the cake was amazing. It got a lot of attention from our guests.”
