When Tom Biddle sent us the incredible pictures of Amy and Adam’s wedding, we smiled inside; a wedding with home brew wine, beer and cider is an instant hit with us! An abundance of homemade elements create such a personal feel to this beautiful late summer wedding; the bunting, stationery, veil, buttonholes and home grown flowers. Amy’s Romantica of Devon wedding dress is simply stunning and we love the embellished jacket that again shows the personal touch that the couple wanted to create. Amazing!
“We wanted a very relaxed theme and we were really keen to make as much as we possibly could to give a personal touch to the day.
“We knew from the beginning that we wanted to get married in Combe, my childhood village, which made the process very easy. The village cricket field is quintessentially English and naturally beautiful, so was perfect for our day. We chose a Capri style marquee as we liked the quirky shape; it looked fabulous with the homemade bunting and brimming with home grown flowers.
“In keeping with the relaxed theme we had games at the reception followed by a wonderful barbecue with a wide range of meats and seafood. We didn’t have a traditional wedding cake, instead we asked our guests to bring a homemade cake or dessert; we were overwhelmed by the wonderful treats that arrived!
“During the evening we had a brilliant band named Super Live who came all the way from Bristol. They played a wide range on music and the lead singer had a rocky tone to his voice which we loved. Our first dance was ‘Anybody Else But You’ by The Moldy Peaches — not traditional, but we really liked the meaningful yet fun lyrics.
“My sister offered face painting to the younger quests, however, after a few drinks the adults wanted to be involved, resulting in some very funny photos. Towards the end of the night we had burritos to keep everyone going. Sadly, it all had to finish at midnight and the guests headed home on a bus that we provided.
“We had an amazing day that we will never forget, and it was captured perfectly by Tom Biddle Photography. Although all the memories were great, two stand out: walking into the packed marquee with everyone cheering the new Mr and Mrs, and secondly, dancing on the packed dance floor surrounded by all our friends and family, some with superhero faces!”
