Today’s real wedding pictures come from Ceri and Jamie’s opera house wedding, photographed by the fabulous Andrew J R Squires Photography.
Ceri and Jamie married on 24th September 2011 in beautiful Ringmer, East Sussex. Jamie’s family are heavily involved in opera and so the couple thought that Glyndebourne Opera House would be the perfect place to hold their wedding reception. This traditional wedding was styled to make it personal to Ceri and Jamie, with personally designed stationery, homemade cakes and table decorations.
“We wanted our wedding to be traditional, but with elements which made it personal to us. The flowers used to decorate the church and reception venue were all picked from friends’ gardens and from Glyndebourne, and we designed and artworked all the stationery and orders of service so they looked exactly as we wanted them to. Ceri and I, bridesmaids and family members baked homemade cakes which were served in the afternoon with Pimm’s and Prosecco, and Ceri’s mother also made the spectacular chocolate wedding cake herself, with 20 bars of Green & Black’s finest! The wine came from the Ile de Ré, our favourite holiday destination, which we then returned to for the first week of our honeymoon, and the table decorations were all homemade, right down to the table numbers and the hundreds of feet of bunting hanging from the rafters of the restaurant! Even the favours were handmade by us and Emma, one of the bridesmaids, with scrabble tile cufflinks spelling out the initials of each male guest and freshly made fudge for the ladies.
“The whole day was absolutely perfect in every way and even better than we hoped. I hope you enjoy the pictures!”
