Today we are sharing fantastic pictures from Stephanie and Neil’s wedding at As You Like It in Newcastle upon Tyne. Neil had proposed to Stephanie in New York, using the MTV big screen in the centre of Times Square. An MTV executive he’d befriended arranged a five minute slot on one of the most photographed screens in the world.
The quirky venue was the perfect setting for their unique wedding, photographed by Jamie Penfold Photography…
“Steph was the creative brains behind it all and had the idea of getting married in the city to create a completely unique wedding that nobody would expect. She had a lot of ideas that were only possible because of her ability to find or create exactly what she wanted. An example is the table layout, or the 45’s dotted around the room, as well as the menu cards and favours etc.
“Music, and particularly older music, has played a big part in Steph’s life, so she wanted to include it as much as possible without it being a specific theme.
“We chose As You Like It as our venue because of its quirkiness, and it has so much style that makes it stand out from anywhere else. From the outside it could easily be mistaken for an office block, then you step inside and get the WOW that we wanted to create.”
